The refined and comfortable hospitality of the “ Palazzo del Capitano ” continue to “Casa Camaldoli”, an ancient dwelling of a family belonging to that rural nobility that during the centuries has contributed to the greatness of San Quirico d’ Orcia.Cassiopea, Andromeda, Auriga, Orione and Pegaso are the constellations from which the 5 splendid rooms offered by the “Capitano”, take their name. From the terrace of the Pegaso junior suite guests can enjoy an enchanting view over the Orcia valley endorsed by Unesco as world-wide human heritage.The “Casa Camaldoli” is about 80 meters far from The Palazzo del Capitano along the village main street near the wonderful “Collegiata” . On the house ground floor there is a cosy sitting room for the clients’ relax, and a small but functional kitchen. Upstairs the bedrooms are large and nicely furnished in an old-fashion way with floors tiled with terracotta , ceilings with wooden beams and romantic pastel decorated walls.
Our hotel is situated in the centre of the old part of San Quirico d'Orcia, a little medieval village in the heart of Tuscany with an almost complete surrounding wall. Of artistic interest are the beautiful and ancient church "la Collegiata" the small Romanesque church of Sante Marie and the Italian style gardens "Horti Leonini". Palazzo del Capitano has an ancient cellar which has been discovered during the restoration works. Here you could taste a wide range of the best Tuscan wine such as Nobile di Montepulciano and Brunello di Montalcino.

How To Arrive
The Casa Camaldoli lies in San Quirico d'Orcia a beautiful medieval town in heart of Tuscany. We are near Pienza, Montalcino and Montepulciano. Siena is 40 km far. Coming from North We suggest to follow the "A1 - Autostrada del sole" highway until "Firenze-Certosa" and then the road to Siena. There are two different roads, one is fast and directly goes to Siena, the other one follows the hills of Chianti and touches many nice towns. Arrived in Siena, you have to exit at "Siena sud" and take the "SS 2 - Cassia", direction Monteroni d'Arbia, Buonconvento and San Quirico d'Orcia. Coming from South The better road is follow the " A1 - Autostrada del sole " until "Chiusi-Chianciano Terme and then follow the road to Chianciano-Siena. Before Chianciano turn right at the first crossroad and follow the indication to Bagno Vignoni, SS2 Cassia and San Quirico d'Orcia.
