Attractions

Syracuse is one of the most ancient towns on the Mediterranean, recently declared UNESCO World Heritage Site. The old town centre, connected to the mainland by the Umbertino Bridge, still conserves many traces of its Greek origin. We recommend visiting:

  • Temple of Apollo
  • Piazza Archimede
  • The Cathedral
  • Palazzo Bellomo Museum
  • Aretusa Source
  • Castello Maniace Castle

Also of great appeal is the Archaeological park of Neapolis which includes moreover,

  • The Roman Amphitheatre
  • The Greek Theatre
  • The Ear of Dionysius etc.
