Itinerary: In battello Piona Abbey It lies on the north eastern shores of lake. You can visit the abbey and its cloisters and have a drink in this peaceful atmosphere. We suggest visiting it by boat. Itinerary: Madonna del Soccorso Departing from the residence, on reaches in about 50 minutes the Santuario della Madonna del Soccorso, hidden among the olive groves on a slope that has a magnificent view on the lake. Itinerary: Mezzegra Here in 1945 on April 28th an important chapter of Italian history was put to an end, when Benito Mussolini and Claretta Petacci were executed near Villa Belmonte at Giulino.
